Citizens Programs
The Red Springs Crime Stoppers program was put into place to help individuals within the town and other locations report crimes. The program is led by members from the Town and community. There is a direct line that can be used to report a crime tip or leave a message. The number is (910) 610 - 9381. There is someone to take the crime tip when the office is open. After hours, leave a message and someone will return your message if needed. We encourage all citizens to use the Tip Line to report any information that will lead to an arrest of any crime within the Town or surrounding towns. Rewards are given when a crime tip leads to an arrest. As always, a tip can be reported anonymously!
The Shop With A Cop program has effectively been in place with the department for several years. The program is successful each year through donations from several town businesses, individuals, and grants from Walmart. The donations are used to help purchase gifts, toys, clothing, and food for Children in Need during the Christmas season who are less fortunate. The children get an opportunity to Shop with one of the department's officers. The program is always a fun and exciting event as it brings smiles to the faces of needy children within the Town. Any child who is eligible for the program can contact their School Resource Officer or Guidance Counselor for more information and an application once enrollment begins. Members of the Town and Local Businesses are encouraged to Donate to the program as well.
Let's Chat is a program that was put into place for the Elderly Citizens within the town limits of Red Springs. Our Elderly citizens are often left with little to no family members who can contact them on a daily basis to check in on their welfare. The program gives a "peace of mind" to those citizens and their families in knowing someone is calling to see how their day is going or just to check in. The citizens can call in also to let the department know that they are doing "OK"! A daily log of their call - in is kept on record. Any elderly citizen within Red Springs Town limits who would like to be added to our call list or wants more information on the program is encouraged to come by the department to fill out a form with some basic information. The call - in only happens during normal business hours.
