Recreation
is provided by the Town of Red Springs in conjunction with the Red Springs
Recreation Commission and the Robeson County Parks and Recreation Commission.
The Town owns and maintains
five mini-parks, three lighted tennis courts, and two lighted baseball fields.
In addition, a summer baseball program is offered for youth 6 to 18 years of
age.
The
Robeson County Parks and Recreation Commission offers a wide array of indoor and
outdoor recreation activities, including youth basketball, football, and soccer,
adult basketball and softball, crafts, dance, exercise, nature trails, and
canoeing. Flora Macdonald Gardens in Red Springs provides recreational outlets
for older citizens.
Golf
There are several golf courses
in the area including: Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton; Cliffwood Golf Club
in Lumberton; Riverside Golf Club in Pembroke; and the prestigious Cypress Lakes
Golf and Country Club in Fayetteville, NC, also known as the home of PGA pro
Raymond Floyd. Pinehurst, the Golf Capital of the World, is about a 45 minute
drive from Red Springs. The nearest golf course to Red Springs is Scothurst Golf
Club, an 18-hole course, eight miles away in Lumber Bridge. The course is
situated next to Chason's Restaurant, known for its famous barbecue and country
buffet. Deercroft Country Club and Arabia Golf Club are noted golf courses also
located close to Red Springs.
