Town of Red Springs Employee Fringe Benefits

All Full-Time Employees:

  1. Annual Leave/Vacation Leave (9 days 1st 2 years; 12 days 2-10 years; 15 days 10-20 years; 18 days- 20+ years)
  2. Paid sick leave (12 days per year- 8 hour days)
  3. Paid Holidays as designated by the town (see website/policy manual for Holidays Observed)
  4. Workers’ Compensation (includes part-time employees)
  5. FICA/Medicare
  6. Employer paid health insurance offered through CIGNA
    85%/15%, Deductible per individual- $400.00, Deductible per family-$800.00
    Maximum out of pocket expense-$1,500.00 per individual, $3000.00 per family

  7. Employer paid dental insurance
    Calendar year deductible-$50.00 per person, $100.00 per family
    Calendar year maximum expenses-$1,000.00 per person

  8. Employer paid vision insurance
    Examination- $10.00 co-pay
    Lenses & Frames-20% discount
    Contact Lenses-15% discount

  9. Employer paid life insurance & AD&D
    $15,000.00 –general employees
    $25,000.00-department heads
    $50,000.00-town manager
    (benefits reduce at ages 65, 70, 75 and upon retirement)
  10. Retirement through NC Local Government Retirement System (Employee Contribution= 6%, Employer Contribution- effective July 1, 2007- General Employees-11.58%, Law Enforcement-11.45%).
  11. NC 401(k) Employer contribution: (2%- General Employee; 5% law enforcement) Employee may contribute up to 18%
  12. Paid civil leave (jury duty, court witness, etc.)
  13. Paid military leave (2 weeks/year)
  14. Educational leave with pay
  15. Reimbursement for training expenses
  16. Separation allowance for law enforcement officers
